The Complaint Overtake

This will be my official first blog. You see, this is a great way for my family and friends to stay updated on the current events of my life, and well...I just felt like blogging for the first time ever. I have been challenged this week to write down instances of when I complain and how to combat those thoughts with praises. Today's combatting verse is found in Psalm 119:133 "Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me." I know it really doesn't have anything to do with a complaining spirit, but I have to say...sometimes I feel as though complaining is a sin that overtakes me. Let me give you an example... today my wonderful husband had to go to FIU and so he was going to run into a lot of traffic and asked if he could take the automatic cavalier. I told him, "Yes" thinking he would be back by 12:00 in the afternoon so I could run my errands. We needed two cars because we both are very busy, but I cannot drive the other car because it is manual. I did the dirty little sin this morning...I complained. I am not sure why my mind always goes toward a complaint before a praise. Why didn't my mind start praising God for the awesome new car this morning. I mean...he just blessed us with a car? Anyways... I refuse to live that way anymore...I have prayed for God to help me so that every time I complain, I would come up with some scripture or a praise to refute that complaint. This is the first day I am really doing it...so I will update you as my progress becomes more noticeable. As I read God's word to find these verses to combat complaining I pray that He will direct my footsteps and that this (complaining) sin will not rule over me any longer. I know with God, no sin can rule over you!
